PopoloCros:the ridiculously named game

Hey guys here for review is PopoloCros (I don't even know if I'm spelling right).

The Story:
Your the son of a King and Queen who have ruled the land for some time. 10 years ago an Ice Demon came upon your land and put a Ice curse so that it is always winter,it's kinda like narnia....but not, your mother turned into a dragon and sacrificed herswelf to try and stop the evil Ice demon but it didn't work and now she has been cast into a eternal sleep, like sleeping beauty.....but not, and your quest is to figure out how to awaken your mother and defeat the ice demon.

The Good:
Funfilled,lighthearted story/nice large levels/intricate characters/intriguing cut scenes

The Bad:
The animation isn't that good/it can feel a little kiddish at times

Good goes first:
The Story keeps you intrested and wondering what happens next, its fun to see alot of different monsters and dragons etc. the gameplay is kinda like Final Fantasy I where it is a turn based game
The levels remind me of a old school pokemon game but the graphics are nicer and they're a bit larger
The characters are fun loving and interesting they each have their own unique personality.
The cut scenes look like they came out of a childrens story book so they're pretty fun to just sit back and watch.

Inevitably comes the bad:
The animation leaves room for improvement but it isn't the worst I've seen in my life.
The story and characters can seem kind of just for kids sometimes and it makes you feel a little goofy playing it but it isn't a huge downfall.

The Summary:
This is a great little game thats like a cheap final fantasy, yes final fantasy is better in all ways but you could just view this as a little game thats almost final fantasy so its still worth a play

Burnout Legends

Just a little scroll down from this review I reviewed Gran Turismo and my final words where "I'd rather take a drive on the track not a drive to the mall" well this game fulfills the race track part....kinda.

The Story:
Your just a average racer trying to make, all the while trying to kill the opponents, but do we use guns anymore? Of course not! We use NOS.

The Good:
One of the most fun to play racing games I have ever played/funny storyline/good music while racing/interesting tracks

The Bad:
Graphics are poor for PSP standards....I would expect it from a DS/it isn't a track racing game/Traffic can get in the way.

As Usual the Good Goes First:
This Game is a extremely fun to play race game, you can pick it up race a lap or two and set it down. It's also fun to try and ram opponents to make them crash.

The Story line is really just a funny narrative of the races the guy cries and sobs when he loses and yells when he wins, some comments just made me burst out laughing.

The music is from some famous aritist like Rage against the machine/MxPx they put together a very good mix of music to get the adrenaline pumping.

The Tracks can be weird shapes where there are three or four ways to go and then some places only have one place to go and that requires some skill to get through over all they made a good variety of tracks.

And As Usual in Comes the Bad:
The Graphics are poor. They remind me of pretty much any race game for the DS, I think they could have done a little better on graphics.

This Game only races on street which is alot of fun but it would have been nice of them to throw in a few real tracks to go do some racing on, plus on the street racing side theres alot of pushing and shoving and grinding and ramming so it's a little different from real racing but still...

The Most annoying thing in the game can be the traffic, you'll be racing and KABOOM you hit a car headon and restart from the starting line after that happens five times in one race your ready to throw your PSP out the window, they should have a level you can choose on traffic none/low/medium/heavy but instead it appears they turned the level all the way up and just broke off the nob so noone can touch the dial.

And Last but Not Least The Summary:
This game is a stellar game I loved playing it and it was very fun, there are a few problems with this game but no game is perfect. I give this a big thumb up in the racing game genre.

Gran Turismo: The Real Driving Simulator

Lately alot of talk has been about the game that makes you feel like your really driving, I'm talking about Gran Turismo. There are good reviews and bad. Heres mine.

The Story:
You're just racing tracks to become national champion.

The Good:
Stellar Graphics/Alot of cars/alot of tracks/awards/achievements

The Bad:
No customizing your cars in any real noticeable way/online play is horrible/it's to.....real/you have to wait per day for a random auto dealer to buy from

Starting off with the good:
The Graphics are some of the best (the best probably being Final Fantasy Crisis Core) I've ever witnessed for a handheld you can tell they put alot of time behind they're graphics computers just working out tiny details

The Cars are all there, from Audi to VW, from Ford to Honda, so your favorite car is almost definately waiting for you.

They're is a LOT of tracks a LOT of awards (in the game) and a LOT of trophys (for the game) there is also some pretty good downloadable content from PSN.

And Now for the Inevitable Bad:
The Customization just isn't there, in games like need for speed you can put graphics on your car, body kits,wings...the works but on here your stuck to that car and having a nice flat color on it....it takes away from the personalization on alot of things.

The Online play is laggy and is lacking any real fun or competition.

The Realness can be frustrating it can be to real, what I mean is sometimes when you have to go slow it just doesn't feel like a race....it feels like a drive to Wal-Mart.

Some of the features correspond with time/days and you only get to buy from one or two car dealers per day so if you just saved up enough for that porsche 911 or that Lotus Elite you'll more than likely end up with a honda civic.

The Summary:
Gran Turismo is a good game for what it is, a real simulator, but alot of people actually want to have fun, not driving lessons and I think thats where this game lacks, I'd rather take a drive on the track than take a drive to the mall.

Medal of Honor: Heroes

We'll be discussing Medal of Honor Heroes this time around so buckle your seatbelts and grab your STG's here we go.

This game has brought some attention because its a series that was introduced on the tv consoles but was brought into the hand held realm and is one of the best as far as handling, and gameplay go. With cuts of old (and I mean 1950's old) movie cuts it can be interesting but, there can be flaws in any game....like no story.

The Good:
It's probably one of the better FPS WWII games on the market for the handheld in views of gameplay and controls

The Bad:
The story has no merit what so ever

Going with the Good First:
The game play is great for a hand held the camera rarely, if ever, gets stuck on any object and just over all is a very good camera.

There are a good many guns to choose from (although there is only one scoped sniper rifle which isn't a huge problem but, something that needs to be considered)

The health/damage ratio is pretty good as far as you don't die in one hit but your bullet's don't destroy everything in site.

The Old movie clips can be fun to watch just as a short little past time.

The Online play is very good and there are usually a good many players on.

Here's the Bad:
Really my only real gripe is that there isn't a very good story behind this, its just your dropped into random locations and asked to do various tasks. I think they could have done better in that area.

The Summary:
This is a good game for any handheld person that wants to experience a good slice of WWII and this game delivers, the story issue isn't a huge problem and its just a fun game that you can pick up and play, and for relatively cheap.

P.S There is a hack exploit that someone found, that can be seen in this video:

Monster Hunters: Freedom 2

For this review we'll be delving into a world of dragons, caves and extremely long missions:

The Story:
Your a Monster hunter and what have you come to do? Why hunt monsters of course! But, on your way to the village you get knocked off the mountain by a formidable unknown monster/dragon and you wake up in the village with nothing but the clothes on your back. As you go talk to the village chief, the random people with packs, and of course the weapon and armor salesman. You're given a little bonus of 1500 dollars to start off with (this hardly buys what you need but we'll get to that later) and off you go to fight the monsters.

The Good:
Customization of your weapon, armor, look, type and style/decent controls/huge worlds/fun to kill monsters

The Bad:
Antagonizing long quests/you can't just play for 10 minutes then set it down/you don't get nearly enough money for what you need to begin with/the monsters can only really be hurt with a certain type of weapon meaning you have to have a plethora of weapons or a crap load of money/you have to go on dumb mini quests to gather items to fight your bigger quests

Let's start with the good:
Customization is a great thing, qho doesn't love for a character to look and act exactly how they want them to? You can choose whether you want your guy to be a swordsman (longsword/greatsowrd) a gunner (bow and arrow/arrow gun) or in between (gunlance). They did a nice job of letting you choose what you want to do and how you want to do it.

The Controls are easy to use and easy to learn they can be a little hard to combo sometimes but never hard enough to cause a real problem.

The Monsters are well thought out and have good AI though there can become a pattern (which you'll be thankful of when fighting the big ones you can't just hack and slash your way to) it takes some strategy and some thought to kill some of the bigger beasts but, in the end you get left with a warm fuzzy feeling...the warm being their blood and the fuzz being their fur...what I mean by this is another cool and unique thing about the monsters is once their dead you can "carve" off things from them i.e. you can carve off a vespoid shell from a vespoid. Some items are harder to find some are easier it all depends on the rarity.

And Lets Not Forget The Bad:
The Quests can be very long, if you don't have an hour to an hour and a half just keep walking because it takes a long time to kill these big monsters and it can also take a long time on just this simple little uest to find a flower because the flower is as far away fromy our house as it could possibly be, its annoying when you have to run all the way there, which in some cases can take at least 15 minutes and then run all the way back, all the while getting attacked by small monsters.

The Items can be extremely hard to find and hard to get and if you want that one certain piece of armor or that special sword you've been eyeing you HAVE to get one or multiples (sometimes 10 of a object that can only be obtained once per quest) to make this item. It takes a long time and after killing 30 of a certain kind of creature it gets a tad repetitive. You can sometimes combine items to make other items but don't forget you have to have 2 items to make that special 1.

The Money is used when you have to buy an item you can't make and it can cost the upwards of $100,000 which takes a very, very long time to get and when you go out on a quest just to gather stuff to sell you'll spend 30 minutes running and 30 minutes just kneeling on the ground picking stuff up.

The Summary:
This game has some good elements and some bad quirks but over all its a fair game. It has good customization and good gameplay which isn't something you can say about alot of other games.

First Review!

Hey guys I'm starting this website to review all the psp games I've played or am playing to start the ball rolling I'll do Code Arms: Contagion.

When Coded Arms was introduced to the PSP as the first FPS (first person shooter) it got bad reviews and poor reports of game play and fun, is Coded Arms: Contagion any different? Released on September 18, 2007 Konami tried to succeed in rebuilding Coded Arms, but sadly they didn't.

The Story:
You will play as Major Jacob Grant, while playing through various levels you'll try to meet up with a different team but, transmission is cut off and you have to try and get to them, all the while running into coincidental yet not errors in the system and find yourself discovering a infectious disease of alien life forms are taking over (can anyone say plagiarism of Metroid Prime?)

The Semi-Good:
New Levels/New Weapons/Some Better Online Play

The Bad:
It's The Same Gameplay Wise/Enemy Wise

We'll start with the good:
The Levels have gotten a little less...square than before and a little more intricate with different outlets and inlets but it is definately not on a Metroid Prime level (which I see so many attempted similarities I have a strong suspicion they tried to copy it)

The Weapons are a tad more war like (i.e you have your rocket launcher/sniper rifle and machine gun and of course pistol and grenades) but it just seems they scanned in Halo 1 weapons and said go for it. They aren't even labeled like real guns etc.

The Online Play is just odd it's definately better than the first one but there are still so many quirks about it that it just feels awkward. If you get shot once with a sniper rifle and when I say shot once I mean anywhere on your body, you die right then and there. The health/damage ratio is a out of wack mess in my opinion and the levels are just as square as ever.

And Don't Forget We Haven't Even Discussed The Bad:
The Enemies just stand there and shoot, they don't use strategy, they don't sneak up behind and the don't even use a sniper rifle. They just aren't a challenge and they are not fun to kill.

The Gameplay is exactly like Coded Arms, the camera can get stuck on objects and walls and can just be plan awkward, the aim is annoying and the insta-lock on mechanism they tried to implement can be downright killer.....as in they kill you not vice-versa.

Summary:
This is a repeat of the last game, a attempt and, a fail at a FPS for the PSP. The game and story line have some potential but, it's going to take a overhaul the size of the titanic to make any good come out of this mess.
